STEAM Festival Review

STEAM Fest was pretty cool. There were lots of events to attend and neat people to talk to. Everyone has a different interest within the steampunk genre and it was fun to hear them all. I was amazed at all the time and detail people put into their costumes and character stories.

My favorite part of the festival was the play, a steampunk version of Shakespeare’s Tempest. The costumes used were great; I especially liked the robots. The incorporation of mechanics into a Victorian setting was very well done and I loved the dialogue’s humor.

However, I really wish the event had been better promoted. There were virtually no people present on Friday and very few on Saturday. Some posters spread around college campuses and promos in Atlanta newspapers / websites would have done wonders for the turnout. That said, I would definitely like to go again next year. :)

My Etsy Shop is up and open again with the sold pieces removed and many pieces on sale or with reduced prices. I also have a large amount of new things to photo and add over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out!

Oh, ha. Silly me. Thank you so much. That makes more sense. Do you have an eye tutorial?
You're very welcome. :aww:

Yes, I do. It's located in my Tutorial Folder.
How long did it take you till you were so good at Photoshopping?
About 4 years, two computers, and two different tablets. :D

It never feels like anything dramatic is happening until you look back a year or two at your own work and relize how much it's changed. I'm sure 4 years from now, I'll look back at my current stuff and say the same thing!
Excuse me ma'm, I tried your realistic lip tuotrial for photoshop and when I get to the blending part (alt+click) it brings me to the eye dropper tool. I have Photoshop cs3 and I'm new at this. Do I have a different photoshop then you? I would really appreciate it if you could help me. Thank you.
You're doing it right; it's supposed to give you the eye dropper. :) By using the short cut for the eye dropper tool when blending, you save yourself a lot of time and effort in constantly changing your color manually or changing to the eye dropper, selecting your desired color, and switching back to the brush. The way I like to blend is by blocking in colors and lightly placing one over another in sheer layers. Using alt+click to select a color I've already laid down allows me to switch quickly between the colors I've chosen without having to stop to change tools or choose a new shade in the color square. It's not a blending tool itself, it just helps you change colors faster.

I hope that helps!
hey there, thanks so much for stopping by my page. I really appreciate it. I hope you might stop by again. Take care.
