This unlucky skeleton is literally hanging by a thread!
Intricately carved from natural bone and antiqued to show detail, the skeleton has a 13-strand Hangman’s Knot (“noose”) wrapped around his neck and clings precariously to a silk cord. The end of the cord is frayed like an old rope.
The bone beads of this necklace are closely knotted in the back but increase in distance toward the front. In effect, they look like they’re sliding off as a result of skeleton’s tugging on the strings.
