Shield Bracelet by Gweyeni Shield Bracelet by Gweyeni
A tri-metal men's bracelet modeled after Harry Dresden's in The Dresden Files books. Silver charms were added to both sides after this photo was taken.

The weave is called "dragon back," and it is surprisingly sturdy and flexible. The metals are copper, nickel, and silver, with a nickel toggle clasp. The total length of the band is 8 inches, and its width is just over half an inch. The number of rings used is between 750 and 800.

Wow, nice work! This has gotten me into a maille-making mood. Where did you get the charms? Were they shield shape like in the books?

Thanks. :)

My husband picked out a package of inspirational charms from Michaels (stamped with words like "faith," "trust," "inspiration"). They were a mix of rounds and squares, but not precisely like the medieval shields described in the book.

I would suggest looking on Etsy, a place where artisans sell their handmade crafts. You can browse by category and keywords to narrow down your search. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, contact a member with things similar to what you want and ask them if they're open for commissions.

I like it! This looks like something I could wear daily! (I don't much like gold as a color, but I do love silver and copper. :D)
